It's been several months since I returned from Ghana, but I thought it would be interesting to post some short stories from my time abroad. Almost every day I would record my experiences and activities in a journal. I'll be posting a few of those stories here.

When you overcome your fear of jumping spiders ... #smallYESvictories.
Still waiting to hear back from my coordinator on school, but might as well start the day early. Took my bucket outside to fill from the water tank and cleaned up. Big spider still wedged in the corner of the washing room. Electricity was out all day so no fan, no charging my phone to check on the other students and I was out of change to grab a taxi to Madina's (my fellow exchange student) or Ma's (my host mom) work. I spent most of the day taking care of the chickens. Dad showed me how to collect the chicken eggs and told me to go down every 30 mins. I collected around 10 eggs each time. My coordinator was supposed to come in the afternoon but he was running late so I took a hot nap. Madina couldn't use her phone in the morning and I was out of texting credit, but she ended up catching a taxi to see me. After doing some chores and checking on the chickens again, we hunkered down on the floor to watch a Norweigan TV series called SKAM. It was nice to do something so normal, and really interesting to follow along with the show. I have no clue how Madina found it. Hopefully I can get more data credit and download some movies for my host sister to watch. In the evening I played hide + seek with my host sister and a friend who lives nearby. We played for more than two hours and hid all around the complex. My host sister is so tiny she can fit in the smallest spaces so it seems impossible to find her. I am completely exhausted.
Here's a sneak peak at some of the (shaky) videos I took during my first month in Ghana. I'm in the process of finishing up a second, and possibly third, video which should be better quality ... we'll see how it turns out.
